This week we have been busy planting trees. Thanks to Mr Green for collecting the trees. The children worked really hard to plant apple and plum trees and should have slept very well last night!
We then received a delivery of about 100 small saplings. If you are interested in dedicating a tree for a small donation to Forest School or would like to help with planting, we will be doing this next Thursday after school, from 3:00pm. Please let Mrs Shuka or the office know if you will be coming and bring a shovel if you have one. We do have a limited number.
We have been working so hard on our woodland artwork this week and hope you will take a minute to look at our art display in our shared area. We are ready to send our work away now and have our board made ready to be unveiled in the woods on the 2nd April. Look out for your invitation coming soon and write the date in your diary.
F2 had a fantastic time, celebrating World Book Day. There were some fantastic costumes from so many different stories. We really enjoyed listening to Mrs Ogle and Mrs Keegan who came and shared their favourite stories with us.
F2 were very excited today to meet our new residents. We now have our own little collection of Woodland animals to study, on loan from the Museum Service. We can’t wait to see the artwork and stories that the children are already beginning to create!
What an amazing day. Thank you to all the adults who made it such a successful day. The children’s behaviour was really good and the Austerfield staff commented on their enthusiasm for learning as well as their politeness and support of each other.
We have added the Gruffalo into our provision areas which has created lots of excitement. We re-told the story using puppets. Some children have drawn the characters from the story and some have started to make up their own stories.
