Shout out to Sergei who independently made all the number bonds to 10 today, with the numicon. I was super impressed of how Sergei extended his own learning and took great pride in this.
Shout out to our two postcard winners so far this week! You have both really impressed me with your engagement in class and how well you have settled into school routines. Keep up the hard work.
Well done to Avaarni who has practiced her name writing over and over again since yesterday and wrote “a” the right way round. She was so proud of her name. What perseverance to improve her learning. Well done.
We have been learning to make numbers in different ways. Children working at Gold standard have been counting, ordering and are beginning to write the numbers. Children working at Green standard were thinking about different ways to make 5 as well as writing the numbers.
I was very impressed with the independent learning that the children did after the group input and how some children challenged themselves to make their learning better.
Thomas and Oscar really impressed me with their learning. They were working at Gold standard but with help challenged themselves to be Green standard. Well done boys. Fantastic learning.
I am looking forward to maths tomorrow an seeing your fantastic learning.
As part of our expedition EYFS are working with Age UK to have a party for some elderly people who they work with. We are hoping to provide them with Christmas presents and a celebration cupcake to make them smile.
We are aware that there are other elderly people in our local community who might be feeling lonely or haven’t had chance to attend a party recently. If we can, we would like to provide them with a celebration cupcake from Plover EYFS children to make them smile. If you know anyone who we could give a cupcake to please let one of the EYFS teachers know or email me, [email protected].
Evanas really impressed me today with his name writing. He worked very hard to correct his letter formation even when he didn’t find it easy. Well done Evanas.
After the torrential rain this morning the children really enjoyed playing in the mud kitchen. They sang the silly soup song from phonics and enjoyed creating a kitchen.
Our Plover postcard went to Raegan today for working hard at home and school. I have noticed an improvement in Raegan’s writing as a result of his practicing at home and school.
