What is in the cube?

We have changed the curiosity cube. The children were interested in all the characters from the story who went to the party.

We also thought about the things we would need to tell people if they came to our party and we used the pictures to work together to create an invite.

Tomorrow we will be making pirate maps and props and be the pirate at the party.

Christmas hampers

We are going to be making Christmas hampers for the Christmas fayre and each class has a colour for their hamper. Ours is pink. We would like any donation that is pink for the hamper – sweets, socks, gloves and anything else that is pink that you think might be relevant. The class that brings in the most will win a class prize.
Hope we can win!!!

Plover postcard

Our postcard went to Zuzanna today. She tried really hard to sign the song 5 little speckled frogs and was very enthusiastic with the actions.

Well done Zuzanna.

Magic painting

As part of our literacy labs we have been reading The birthday invitation and the invitation goes to a wizard. The children have been interested in magic so today we did magic painting.

We used magic painting to reveal tricky words. Some of the children then wrote their own magic words.

Pride of Plover

Well done to Ianis who has worked really hard to learn nearly all of his sounds and tricky words! I also gave a shoutout to Sulieman who has been doing extra reading and writing at home and has been proud to tell me about this in the morning.

Maths week in Foundation 1!

In Foundation 1, we use shape and number, in all of the areas of our setting.

We have lots of opportunities to write and cut ,shapes and numbers.

We can count our jumps and claps! In our role play area, we were looking for circles on the table, in the firework pictures and our poppy plates.

We use number and shape when we are learning outdoors too. We can match the numbers on the fence, to our bikes and mark make with chalks.

We can use our I pads and the interactive white board.

Fantastic caring

Our yellow T-shirt was awarded to Avaarni today for being a fantastic model of our Plover pledge. She has been working hard and has been so thoughtful and caring in her responses to other children.

Well done Avaarni. We are very proud of you,
