A writing day

Today in F2P seemed to be a writing day with lots of children choosing writing. Some made books, some wrote messages and some stories. The children were proud to share their creations. Well done everyone. Perhaps you could write some stories at home too.

Well to to Ianis who has moved up 4 reading bands! WOW! Ianis has really impressed me this week in mastering how to blend and his perseverance when trying to segment words to write. Ianis was really proud of himself and we are proud of him too, well done Ianis!

What buildings can we see?

We went for a walk in the local area today to look at the buildings. We found detached, semi-detached and terrace houses. There were also bungalows, flats, schools, shops, a library and a church. We spotted garages and solar panels. We will be using what we found out over the next few days.

Early years builders

We explored tools today. Mr Taylor was our expert and he made sure that we wore our safety goggles, kept our fingers away and watched what we were doing. We learnt to use hammers and saws and bench hooks.

I was very proud of how children listened and followed the instructions.

We are builders!

Today we learnt how to use tools safety. We had a go at sawing wood and hammering nails. We made sure that we put on our safety goggles first, kept our fingers away and that we secured our wood using the bench hook.

Well done to Ianis who did some excellent blending during our reading activity today, and tried really hard in phonics to write some new words. Keep it up Ianis!

Celebrating reading

Well done to Mia who read sentences on her own today so was given our postcard. She was so proud of herself for reading on her own.

We also celebrated with Paisley and Zara as they completed the reading challenge and chose a book to keep.

Keep up the fantastic reading everyone. I wonder who will be the next one to complete the challenge.

We are artists

Today we had a go at learning how to draw a pig. After drawing our pigs, we then critiqued them before having another go. I was super impressed by the drawings F2W produced.
