Mathematicians

These children have blown me away with their maths work today, challenging themselves to make bigger numbers in different ways. The children also organised numbers from 0-30 independently.

Shoutout to Weronika who persevered to get to green standard as well, even though she found it tricky to begin with.

Amazing reading

Postcards were given to Isla and Evanas for fantastic reading. Evanas has moved up a reading shelf. Isla sounded out words really well. I am really proud of both of you.

Plover pledge

Shoutout to Reign who has been extremely kind to his friends today and tried hard in his learning, he has definitely been following our plover pledge. Reign also helped one of his peers cut up their dinner correctly with their knife and fork. Keep it up.

What would you take on a picnic?

We looked at the beginning of the story today about Lucy and Tom going to the seaside. First the children worked together to find what Lucy and Tom took to the seaside. Then they decided what they would like to take. There was some fantastic turn taking and sharing ideas.

Making faces

In our current expedition story, Lucy and Tom at the seaside, Lucy and Tom made faces on the beach using natural resources. Today during provision we have been making faces, using natural resources in our sand area, to recreate this.

Enjoying outside

We have been adding to provision in our outdoor learning. We have been fishing using fishing nets, having picnics, making the food and pretending that we are at the seaside in the sand pit.

What do you think will happen in the story?

We did a gallery walk today of the story Lucy and Tom at the seaside. We looked at pictures from the book and talked to our friends about what we had seen. The children then predicted what they thought would happen.
