Plover car wash

We have started finding out about places in the community. We have started building houses and have really enjoyed playing in our car wash.

Our homes are in our community.

F2S have enjoyed building their homes today. They have been sharing photos, building different kinds of homes and talking about different kinds of families. Some of us have really big families and some have small families. What kind of home do you live in and how many people are there in your family?

Mr Taylor and Mrs Ogle

As part of our expedition we painted pictures of Mr Taylor and Mrs Ogle. We gave them their pictures. Mr Taylor has put his onto his cupboard door.

Painting routine

Today we practiced painting skills. We have learnt to use the painting routine – water, sponge, paint, mix.

A shout out goes to Marnie. She spent a long time mixing the correct colours. She decided to draw the face on as she said the pen could make smaller lines. Well done Marnie.

Working together

As part of our learning we have been thinking about how we can can combine different objects in our model making. Oscar and Bobby worked together today to build a bridge. When it collapsed they persevered and tried other ways to stop it collapsing.

When the model was finished they allowed other children to use cars on their bridge and involved them in their play.

Well done Oscar and Bobby – fantastic sharing of ideas and creativity!

Getting to know our crew

F2S have had a great week learning more about each other and what it means to be part of the F2S crew. We have been learning about who is in our school community and what everybody does. The children have enjoyed meeting Mrs Ogle, Mr Taylor, our cook Adele and the ladies in the office. Next week we’ll be finding out about our wider community. It would be great if you could take a walk to see what buildings you can see around Intake.

Fantastic settling in from Foundation 1!

Our children are now completely settled into our school routines in the setting. We have been extremely pleased with how the children enter the classroom independently. They are following our rules and routines to keep each other safe and have made lots of new friends. What a wonderful group of children who have begun school in difficult circumstances.

Mrs Renwick, Mrs Ibbertson and Mrs Melady are very proud of all of you! Well done!
