A bear has been in the Foundation 1 classroom!! Oh no!

Children, look what has happened in our role play area when Mrs Renwick and Mrs Melady came to school this morning!

It seems as though a bear had been having a picnic in the bed! There was a terrible mess with muddy paw prints!

He must have come out of our ‘Bear cave’ looking for something to eat!

Don’t forget to send me a picture that you have drawn of your bear, on ‘Evidence Me’. Here are Paisley’s, Ianis’ and Ruby-Ann’s bear pictures. Aren’t they amazing?

Phonics ai

We will start every phonics session with a quick practice of the graphemes and tricky words that we have already covered. For this you will need to click on each of the links below or make your own flashcards to match.

phase 3 graphemes

phase 3 tricky words

Today we will be learning to recognise and use the grapheme ‘ai’. Watch the short video below then go on a phonics hunt around your home. Can you find things with the ai sound in them? See if you can write a list of all the ai objects you have found. You might even be able to use some words to write a sentence! Remember to send a photo of your learning to show what you have done.

We are artists

This morning we are learning to draw and describe a teddy bear. Watch the video on how to draw a bear. This bear has a heart but you could draw a picture of your bear without one.
Can you label your bear? Think of words to describe the bear. These are called adjectives.

This is the link to the video.

We are looking forward to seeing the pictures that you draw and the words that you use to describe them.

Was it the bear?

Look at this amazing learning from Avianna. She made some footprints and then found who had made them. Can you guess who it was?

Well done Avianna

Mrs Price

#LovePlover

Plover Foundation 1 learning at home.

Should parents/carers not wish their child to attend Foundation 1 during this period then we are offering remote learning via this blog and ‘Evidence Me’.

In order to access the Foundation 1 learning, we are asking parents/carers to please make sure you can do the following:

  1. Be able to access the Foundation 1 blog on the Plover website;

www.ploverschool.co.uk – learning and reminders will be added here daily. To do this: Go to the website. Click on ‘class blogs’, this takes you to ‘EYFS’ and then to ‘Mrs Ibbertson’s and Mrs Renwick’s blog’.

  1. Be able to receive and send observations on ‘Evidence Me’ each day, for all elements of learning that have been set on the blog.
  2. A paper pack of activities will also be provided; to be picked up from the school office at the beginning of next week. Please send in photos and comments about your child completing these activities on ‘Evidence Me’; we do not need the actual work to be returned to school.
 Daily:
Please send any comments/questions via Evidence Me or email Mrs Ibbertson at [email protected]. Please put the name you would like me to use for you, as well as the name of your child. Thank you.
Daily check in – How does your child feel today?

Check the blog for exciting learning activities in Phonics, Maths and our new Expedition learning about ‘Where do bears live?’

Then send your learning, in these areas, back to me via the ‘Evidence Me’ app.

In the autumn term, all of our current parents and carers had confirmed to Mrs Ibbertson that they could receive information from the ‘Evidence Me’ app and most sent something back to me as a test. If you are not able to use the ‘Evidence Me’ app, please email me and I will help you. If you need anything else and you wish me to ring you, please email me the best contact number. Thank you for the support which you have shown us and we are here should there be anything that we can do to support your child at this difficult time.

Mrs Ibbertson and Mrs Renwick.

Google Hangouts

These are the hangout codes for our daily google hangouts. These hangouts are an essential part of your child’s school day. The morning hangout will be when I take our class register and set learning for the morning. Please start this hangout with your mic on mute until you are asked to unmute. It’s also really important that children take turns to speak.

The end of day session is an opportunity to share learning and questions but also may be a time for additional learning or stories.

I look forward to seeing you all online!

Who ate all our food?

It’s been a very quiet day today but we’ve had great fun solving the mystery of our visitor. We have looked carefully at the footprint and think that either a bear or the big bad wolf has had a midnight snack in our classroom. We have been very busy drawing pictures of our visitor and making posters to warn him not to eat our snacks!
