Peepo! Sequencing on a storymap

This morning we will be sharing the story of Peepo by Janet and Allan Ahlberg. I wonder if you’ve read any other stories by these two?
You can listen to the story on our morning hangout and will also find it on youtube via the link attached. After you have heard the story, think about the rooms and places the baby visits. Do you have the same rooms in your house?
Your task today is to create a storymap, sequencing the pictures from the story. You can either print off the pictures (shared in evidence me) or draw your own. Can you label each picture?
Remember to send me a picture of your storymap and save it for tomorrow’s session.
Tip – make it big and leave room to add to it.

We are bears!

Today we have been making bear masks. We have been practicing holding scissors correctly and cutting along a line.

I think you all look Grrrrrreat!

Superstar

Our postcard went to Sofia today. She has been so kind and caring and has made sure everyone had their water bottle. She has also been speaking lots to other children and responding to them

Well done Sofia. We are so proud of you.

Practicing fine motor skills

Today we are focusing on using fine motor skills. We will be thinking about how to use scissors carefully, how to cut circle out of the middle of the paper and how to fix things together. You could make a mask, a split pin teddy(you could just stick it together), a bear picture.
There are a couple of examples that you might want to use.

Gold standard today is cutting on the line. Green standard today is cutting out the eyes and being precise cutting on the line.

In the Foundation 1 setting the children have been mixing brown, using red, blue and yellow, to paint their bears independently.

They have been extending their learning to real bears, playing with the Polar bears in the snowy, small world area.

The children can independently use technology, by accessing the interactive white board to draw their bears.

We have been investigating how we can tell if a bear is old or new, as if we were detectives.

Plus making masks in order to pretend to be bears! Grrrrrrrrrrr!

Feel Good Friday Plover Praise Time

To celebrate the end of two fantastic weeks of learning we are going to be having a little party with some games and dancing. It will be at 2pm on Friday. Your child can wear party clothes to school if they wish. The hangout will be at 2 instead of 2.30 that day. You can still use the same link for the afternoon hangout.
