The day Otis’s Daddy brought his big red bus to school!
Bus Expert and Visit
This morning, we had a special visitor in EYFS… not only was he a bus driver with a double decker bus, but he was one of our parents! Thank you to Jack and First Travel f. or visiting us today. The children learnt about what a bus driver does, how the bus moves safely, what journeys the buses go on. Then we got to explore the bus and sing songs! This was some children’s first time on a bus and they were so excited! #LovePlover
Our expert bus driver
This morning we have been lucky enough to have a visit from Otis’ dad, Jack, who is a bus driver. Jack brought his bus for us to have a look around and told us all about his job. It was so exciting!

We listened to some African culture and watched people playing the djembes. We explored different beats and rhythms on our knees then on the djembes. We had so much fun – check out our beats! #LovePlover
African drumming – Playing djembes
We had a lovely time this morning playing djembes. We watched some videos of African people playing djembes. We explored different rhythms and the sounds that they could make. The children then played as they sang nursery rhymes.

Playground Markings Expert Visitor
On Friday we had Dave from Uni Play visit F2 to talk about playground markings, how they’re made, showed lots of designs, spoke about what machines are used and answered lots of questions our children had. We then went on a journey around our school playgrounds to test out some old playground markings, shared ideas of what the children would like and then we created our own. #LovePlover
Exploring Winter
Last week the children spotted the signs of Winter during outdoor learning. We noticed there was frost, snow and lots of ice. We made different shapes with the ice. #LovePlover
Making Shapes in PE
In gymnastics we explored making different shapes and holding different balances. We linked our movements and shapes to our Little Red Riding Hood story. #LovePlover
We’re On The Move
Our new expedition: We’re On The Move – wheels, wings and other things! In hook week we went on a local walk around our community. We walked and saw lots of other things moving: cars, buses, scooters, cyclists, birds, squirrels. We used our geographical knowledge and map skills to spot things in Intake. #LovePlover
Number Day in F2
We love numbers! Maths is fun! Today we celebrated number day with lots of learning and fun activities all linked to numbers and maths. We worked hard to make our own number track games, match numbers, make numbers, jigsaws, bee bots and dominos! As well as using our counting skills outside! #LovePlover
