Rainbow Bear’s Crew Journey

In expedition yesterday, we discussed how special ā€˜Dogger’ is to Dave. We linked it to how special our crew bear Rainbow is to each and every one of us. Then we thought of some rules on how we should look after Rainbow. We showed democracy by voting for our 5 most important rules that us and our families should follow when looking after Rainbow. Crew Meade are so excited to take Rainbow home and go on lots of adventures. Birthday girl Alicia, was the first to take Rainbow home yesterday. She drew a picture of her and Rainbow playing on the trampoline which they jumped on in her garden together. I wonder what else Rainbow will get up to? #LovePlover

Meet F2BP crew bear “Sunshine”

Welcome our crew bear… Sunshine!
In expedition we learnt about the history of how teddy bears are made. We then discussed the instructions on how to make a bear. As a crew we worked together to build a bear. We described how our new bear felt and shared kindness messages for our crew bear. In crew, we showed democracy to vote for the name of our crew bear from the children’s suggestions. There were lots of names that the children came up with but the winning name was Sunshine.

The children are very excited to look after Sunshine.

Election Fever at Plover

Today we were demonstrating our British Values of Democracy by holding our very own school election.

Following Wednesday’s hustings assembly (imagine a much more polite version of the leadership debate), children voted for their favourite candidates for Plover Pupil Leadership team, which would consist of a Pupil Headteacher and 3 Assistant Headteachers.

Children were checked in at the registration desk and then went to the polling booths to make their secret vote. Following that, they posted their votes into the sealed ballot box.

Year 6 pupils, Sienna, Costa, Ashton and Lara worked really hard as election officials and counting the votes at the end of the election.

I am pleased to announce that the Pupil School Leadership will be: Tim (Pupil Headteacher), Eifa (Pupil Assistant Headteacher), Violet (Pupil Assistant Headteacher and Caleb (Pupil Assistant Headteacher. They were delighted when they were informed they had won and are excited to start their roles.

Thank you to all the children who engaged in the elections in such an enthusiastic way throughout the day.

Time to Vote

I’ve just completed my vote for the general election… but more importantly 1M have cast their votes for the ‘Plover Pupil Election’. The children respected and loved the authenticity of the polling station, to vote for their Pupil Leadership candidate! Tune in to Plover Blogs for the Election results… other media coverages are also available. #LovePlover

Time to Read Tuesday

This Tuesday’s Snuggle and Story was lovely. We had some of our lovely parents coming to share books and snuggles with their children. We all picked a new book to take home. We talked about our British Value of ā€˜Liberty’ and how we get lots of choices in school. Some children decided to draw their favourite book too. We love reading in F2!

Fantastic Year 1 Trip to the Deaf School

Year 1 have been absolutely brilliant today, showing kindness, respects and wonderful HoWLS during their visit to the Deaf School. We have completed a local community field work study, working with specialist local partners within our community and developing lots of skills and knowledge about our local community! I am sure the children will be able to teach you a few BSL signs when they get home. Thank you to all the teachers and children of the Deaf School who were awesome experts! #LovePlover
