We are enjoying our paired reading

Kyryl and Raegan have really enjoyed reading to learn more about World War Two together every Tuesday morning. Their faces say it all…look how happy and engaged they both are!

Well done boys, you make a great team. I wonder what facts you can remember?

Book Buddy

We are delighted to have Claire as a book buddy at Plover! Claire generously donates books to our school and we are lucky enough that she goes out and spends lots of time, as well as her own money, choosing new and exciting books for us to read here at Plover. See if you can find a book donated by Claire in the library!

Have a look at what Claire said when we asked her about being a book buddy.

“I was delighted when author Maz Evans launched the Book Buddy scheme on Twitter and I knew immediately that this was something I wanted to do. I’m an avid reader myself, and couldn’t wait to share some of the brilliant books that are published for children today.  From Emma Carroll’s amazing historical fiction to the funny and fantastical world of Ross Montgomery or the mythical quests of Maz Evans herself, I wanted to do a little something towards making these books available in a school today. Alongside the stories I knew, I’ve also hunted out some fabulous factual books on nature, history, sport and science, as well as some beautiful picture books, and so, hopefully, there’s something for every child to encourage them to pick up a book. I’m now a Book Buddy to two schools, and choosing books to send to you all is one of my favourite things to do!”
