4B have done a gallery walk to critique everyone’s posters they created yesterday about aspects of Roman life in Britain and today they have presented their posters to the class. Well done for being brave enough to share your interesting facts and to listening carefully to others to give smart critiques.

Today, year 4 carried on with their hockey skills and defending in teams. They worked well together and communicated on passing and defending against the other team. They practiced to the best of their ability and the coaches are super proud of the achievement and progress they have been making. Well done year 4, I’m very proud of the courage and teamwork you have displayed!

Today for expedition, 4B have been researching about aspects of Roman life to produce a poster which they will be presenting to the class tomorrow. Well done everyone for working so hard and I can’t wait to see your presentations.

There are times when I wish I had recorded a lesson. Today was definitely one of those times. I’ve never seen so many over dramatic children posing as Roman soldiers in a variety of situations. When they ‘came to life’ as I touched their heads, some of their comments were absolutely priceless:
“Are we nearly there yet?” “Outta the way I’m gonna be sick!” “Hold on for your life, there’s another wave coming!”

“How cold is this water?!” “No one said about this before we set off.” “So…cold…so…far…”

“Where on Earth am I?” “What is that supposed to be?” “Why is it so wet and so cold?”

“Claudius ordered us to build a settlement but I’m too tired. I must sleep!” “Sleep now, build later.”

“Oof, urgh, hmpf!” “I don’t know how many more bricks I can pass you!” “How heavy!” “OW!”

“Let’s be ‘avin yaaaaaaaa!” “CELTS COMING!” “Who are ya?” “Attack!” “Incoming!”

I honestly don’t know where they get it from! Well done 4H now to transfer those actions and words into writing! You’ve got this, folks!

Look who’s come to stay! We are so incredibly excited and proud that our class have been chosen to look after our school Guinea pigs – not surprisingly, they have won all of our hearts already! Say hello to Nibbles…

Queenie was feeling too shy to come out to play but today, she seemed more settled. We will introduce her to you all tomorrow.

Well done to these three fabulous girls. They worked so hard last week and all had their own special shining moments! Keep up the hard work, girlies!

After completing our first challenge of the lesson: ‘Am I Roman or Celtic?’, we checked in with someone else from another table and chatted through our answers together. Some of us felt a little strange: suddenly getting up and moving elsewhere in the room but the movement improved the quality of the conversation between everyone and their was more of a ‘buzz’ about the learning. Well done guys – I know it feels strange talking to someone different but you were all incredible! AGAIN!

What a busy week last week was! 4H worked so hard and made some great learning choices too! Let’s keep it going 4H and work together to produce even more beautiful work this week! You never know, we may even be able to make Mrs Ogle squeal with delight again! Just remember how good you felt when she rewarded you all…
