Well done to my postcard winners who impress me on a daily basis with how hard they work and how kind they are!

After spending the last few weeks finding out why the Romans lived in what is now known as Doncaster, we are now able to write non-chronological reports about our learning…

Well done to everyone who stood in front of the class and spoke about the information they had collated about the Romans and how they founded Doncaster – then known as Danum. It takes a lot of courage to speak to a large group of children, so you really do need to be proud of yourself if you have been able to be brave enough to do this!
Keep being courageous 4H!

4H wore yellow on World Mental Health Day, along with the rest of the school to raise awareness about the importance of keeping our minds healthy as well as our bodies.
Stay happy guys and talk things through with a trusted adult if you ever need to!
ALWAYS HERE FOR YOU!

We have successfully worked in teams to place many of the key events of the growth of the Roman Empire on a timeline. We found it really exciting when we were able to provide written feedback for our peers too.

You see lollipop sticks, I see a building opportunity! Why just look at Roman numerals when we are learning about them when we can use lollipop sticks to build them instead? With a little bit of collaboration and a sprinkle of competitive spirit, time quite literally flew by whilst we were having fun. Erm, I mean learning! Excellent engagement and progress from everyone…well done folks!

All of your children have really enjoyed the tennis coaching they have received over the past few weeks. Not all have found it easy and some have had to show great courage to keep trying until they succeeded. Consequently, everyone’s skills have grown immensely – no matter what their starting point was. The sportsmanship they have shown has been genuinely beautiful to watch: encouraging each other when faced with challenges; celebrating with each other when achievements were made; and showing pride for one another when awards were allocated. Well done 4H, keep smashing it!

What a fantastic opportunity we have available to us. Every child in Year 4 is learning to play the ukulele with a specialised music teacher and you know what? We sound pretty good already – after just a few lessons! I cannot imagine how far these lessons will take us, but I do know the journey is going to be great.
Well everyone – I hope you are enjoying these lessons.

Ping Pong Pete has visited Plover to deliver bespoke Ping Pong sessions with all classes throughout school. It was great fun. We learnt some important points about sportsmanship and well as technical points such as how to stand; how to hold the bat; and how to serve the ball. He created some really fun challenges for us to complete too. I hold my head in shame as I was clearly defeated when Ianis was paired against me! You are an awesome player Ianis, well done! I blame the heels I was wearing – not my lack of skill!

Apologies to all Y4 parents and carers. My device has not been allowing me to blog over the past few weeks, so I have been unable to do so. The glitch seems to have been rectified at last and some kind of technical magic that I don’t understand has happened.
Some of the events that I am about to blog happened a while back, but I still want to share your amazing children with you because they are awesome!
