2P have courage!

Yesterday’s character trait that we learnt about was courage. We discussed how we need courage when we are challenged with things that can make us feel uncomfortable. We learnt this by dancing in the cheerleading style. This was very challenging for some of us (including me!) but we all showed bravery and courage and gave it a good go. We now need to practise our routine a few more times before we perform it in front of the rest of the Key Stage. The final act of courage!

2P are back!

It was great to see everyone back in school today and looking so smart! This week, we are learning how to be great learners. We are doing this by focusing on a different character trait every day. We learnt about ‘Respect’ today. We unpicked what the word meant and how it might look if we are being respectful. We learnt that written and unwritten rules are important in helping us to know that we are always being respectful to each other. Together, we created a set of class norms that will help us remember how we can show respect. A great first day back! I wonder which character trait we will focus on tomorrow?

First Day Back

A big welcome back to everyone in 2L. It was fantastic to see everyone settling in and working hard today. We have been exploring our first character trait – ‘Compassion. We have been learning what it means to show compassion and how we can fill someone’s bucket up each day with compassion.

The children created a bingo card to identify different acts of compassion that they committed to doing over the next few weeks and explored the artwork of Keith Haring.

To our wonderful Year 1’s.

To Our Wonderful Year 1 Classes

We have loved teaching you and watching you become the amazing learners you are today. You’re all more than ready for the exciting adventures of Year 2!

A very special goodbye and big hug to Miss Cunningham, who we will miss so much! We wish her all the best in her new school — they are so lucky to have her!

Year 1 Celebration of Learning

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Tuesday for our Celebration of Learning. I hope you are as proud as we are of how well the children spoke about their learning and the wonderful work they have produced this term.

Pride of Plover

Last week’s Pride of Plover was a huge one! The stories we heard of personal resilience and overcoming challenges were inspiring. It was great to see how we all make progress in different ways and at different paces but that working hard is always the key. Well done to everyone for showing us what it takes to be our Pride of Plover.
