Breaking bread together

What a lovely morning we had! We have been reading a story called The Little Red Hen and in the story she makes some bread. We decided to do the same. We read the recipe and followed the instructions to measure, mix, knead, roll and bake. We waited all day to taste our bread roll with butter on it. It was delicious! What a great day we have had- partying and sharing bread!

Baking bread

Today we have been learning to be scientists. We made bread. We talked about the ingredients and the equipment. We enjoyed mixing, squashing, kneading and rolling.

We tasted the bread and it was delicious.

Shining bright

We enjoyed our glow party today. Thank you to all the families who supported us. We practiced moving in different ways, made shapes with our glow sticks, wrote our names with highlighters and did some sticking. We practiced using lots of different skills.

R.E in F2

Children were learning all about how Christians put their faith and trust in Jesus and how they trust him not to lead them astray. They had so much fun learning to trust each other blindfolded and being led around the classroom, putting their faith in the leader.

Super readers

The children in F2PR are working really hard in phonics to learn letter sounds and read green words. We had more superstar readers today who could read the green words. Well done Yuuvan, Rishaa and Amelia.

Is it 3 or not?

In maths today the children had to say the amount and say if it was 3 or not. We played a game hiding pine cones and using our eyes to subitise.

Georgie and Scarlett really enjoyed the game and challenged each other to see different amounts. They took turns and helped each other. They were both superstar mathematicians. Well done.

Who is in the story?

Today we shared the story The Little Red Hen. The children made the sounds of the animals to match the story. Some children drew the characters and wrote their names.

We will be exploring the story and sequencing it tomorrow and then making bread at the end of the week like the Little Red Hen. The children are looking forward to doing this!

Time to Read Tuesday!

The children loved selecting their book to take home today. Shout out to all the families sharing books at home. Tommy has been busy- we can tell by all the comments in his reading record.

Boss of the pen!

These three superstars showed their pens who was boss today! They got a postcard for working hard! 💪

Family harvest

Thank you to all the families who joined us for family learning this afternoon. The children sang songs and the adults joined in with the signing too.

The food will be donated to the Plover Pantry.
