We continued to learn about Chinese new year. Today we focussed on making Chinese dragons. The children worked together to make a dragon head and also drew some beautiful dragons.

We have learnt lots of things today about Eid and Ramadan.
Thank you to Bakr’s mum for making us some delicious food. We made Eid cards and looked at Indian clothes too.
Bakr told us about some of the things that happen in the mosque too.

This week we have been sharing the story Goldy Luck and the three Pandas as an alternative text to Goldilocks and the three bears. This has led us on to learning about Chinese New Year.
We created a list of all the facts that we could think of relating to Chinese New Year and China. Some of the children remembered learning about Pandas.

We tasted different Chinese food. We talked about how it was safe for the children to eat it even though it was different to what they normally ate. We made a tally of the food we liked.

Yesterday, we learned about keeping safe online. We know to ‘STOP, CLOSE and TELL’, if we see a pop-up appear. In the story we saw what happened when children don’t do this. All the children now know what to do if they see a pop-up on their screen. They have brought home a gremlin to place near their device as a reminder.
Over the last couple of weeks, we have been learning about looking after our mental health as well as our physical health. We read a story about a colour monster whose emotions were all mixed up. He had help to sort the emotions into jars. His emotions were all different colours. We have discussed the colours we feel for different emotion words we have learned. Mrs Bubb talked about an emotion and if we had the colour that represented that emotion we made matksbon the paper with it. We all saw different colours for different emotions.
This morning’s crew was mindful colouring. We all really enjoyed sitting quietly and exercising our mind to be calm and quiet. We are learning to #bekind to ourselves.

F2 have looked this week at the Persian New Year in their RE session. We discussed how the Persian New Year is different to our new year celebrations as it is based around the beginning of Spring. The children then linked their fine motor skills to different pictures of spring. Well done F2!

Well done to Patsy-Ann and Lacey-Mae for being our Pride of Plover children this week. They have been superstars this week. Lacey-Mae has settled into Plover really well. She is working hard and is very kind to her friends. Patsy-Ann is working hard especially in maths where she has been helping her friends.
