World Book Day 2024

We are looking forward to celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 7th March.

It would be lovely to see the children dressed up as their favourite book character, but please don’t feel like you have to rush out and buy a costume!

ÂŁ1 Book Vouchers will be given to children on the day which can be spent in most supermarkets and book shops, but we do also have a Book Fayre coming into school the following week, and children can put their voucher towards the cost of a book at that event – more details to follow soon.

More information can be found on https://www.worldbookday.com

A writing day

The children have demonstrated some fantastic writing today. Some of them wrote words and sentences during the morning task and some of them chose to write during provision time.

Bakr was very confident in his morning writing. Ola showed her writing from home. Olivia and Ariana wrote shopping lists. Georgia and Maisie wrote sentences to match their pictures.

Roots of empathy

Thank you to baby T and his mummy for coming to visit us today. He has grown so much. He is now sitting and is starting to crawl. We learnt about how he shows his emotions and the things he likes and dislikes.

Dragon dancing

In F2 today we have been practicing dragon dancing. We watched some clips of Chinese dragon dancing and listened to some music. The children then decided the moves that they could do.

F2B Faith Day

Today we learned about Eid. Muslims celebrate Eid. Their religion is called Islam. Zehra in our class in Muslim and we enjoyed learning and sharing knowledge together. We read a Muslim story about a family, like Zehra’s, who did Ramadan. Zehra explained Ramadan is when they don’t eat food in the daytime (fasting) but they eat food at night. For Eid, they share a big feast and sometimes have fireworks. We made Eid Mubarak cards and some children chose to give theirs to Zehra. We ate spicy food from Bakrs Mum. Some of us loved it! Some of us nearly cried because it was so spicy- we all had a giggle! What a lovely day learning about other people’s faiths. We celebrate our differences.
