F2 have looked this week at the Persian New Year in their RE session. We discussed how the Persian New Year is different to our new year celebrations as it is based around the beginning of Spring. The children then linked their fine motor skills to different pictures of spring. Well done F2!

Well done to Patsy-Ann and Lacey-Mae for being our Pride of Plover children this week. They have been superstars this week. Lacey-Mae has settled into Plover really well. She is working hard and is very kind to her friends. Patsy-Ann is working hard especially in maths where she has been helping her friends.

Today we practiced saying a sentence and then writing it. We talked about writing on the line, spaces between words, capital letters, full stops and pinching Fred fingers.
The progress in the children’s writing this term is fantastic.

This week we have being learning about Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We have had lots of fun in role play retelling the story. We’ve been fantastic at remembering the story and sequencing it and making our own pictures. We have also made up our own alternative Goldilocks stories.
We have been thinking a lot about our emotions and learning new words to describe them.
Today in crew, we thought about the times when we have have felt proud, delighted, upset and angry. To show our understanding we played the ‘corners game’ and listened to the scenario and decided which emotion the person in the scenario was feeling. We enjoyed it so much and were so good at it that some of the children even shared a scenario for us to guess the emotion they felt. Tommy was really angry and upset when his toy dinosaur got broken.
This week, we are exploring the composition of the number 6 in whole class maths. In provision, we have been using our knowledge of numbers to call the story book characters on the phone. We have had some great chats! We have been learning to write the number 6, starting in the correct place and measuring items from the Goldilocks story, using cubes. Mrs Bubb is so impressed with our hard work in maths and we can see every day that we are getting smarter!
We have been learning to find the pulse in music. Today, we found the pulse, with drums, for our Trip Trap song. 🎶
