As part of the expedition, Year 2 have been working as scientists. They have been investigating materials and deciding which materials are waterproof or absorbent.
Then the children used courage to make predictions before testing the different capacities of the containers in their test. We discussed predictions, the information we might need to be able to make a prediction, how to make it a fair test and how to check our predictions against the results.
We will be using this information to help us design a rainwater harvesting system to help us save water. This was inspired by the book ‘The Mellons build an eco house’.
