This morning Mason wanted to know why the train had an extra piece at the back. We spoke about magnets. This led to an investigation with the whole class on which materials in our classroom were magnetic and to see if we could work out why.
We discovered that some metal things were magnetic and lots of objects weren’t magnetic like the glass window, the wooden easel and the plastic chair.
