Friday 26th June maths answers

Here are the answers to today’s learning.

TGB: exit ticket

Here is your exit ticket for today. Remember this isn’t a test, this is for me to see what you have learnt and what you might need more support with.

Number bonds to 10

0 + 10 = 10

5 + 5= 10

2 + 8= 10

7 + 3 = 10

10 = 9 + 1

6 + 4 = 10

Fact families

Here are three number cards. Can you give me four equations you can make using these numbers? 6    3     9

6 + 3 = 9

3 + 6 = 9

9 – 6 = 3

9 – 3 = 6

Fact families

Here are three number cards. Can you give me four equations you can make using these numbers? 5     7       2

5 + 2 = 7

2 + 5 = 7

7 – 5 = 2

7 – 2 = 5

Fact families

Here are three number cards. Can you give me four equations you can make using these numbers? 11     8       3

8 + 3 = 11

3 + 8 = 11

11- 8 = 3

11 – 3 = 8

Adding within 20

9 + 4 = 13

13 + 2 = 15

15 + 5 = 20

18 + 1 = 19

0 + 6 = 6

5 + 6 = 11

Subtract within 20

8 – 7 = 1

15 – 3 = 12

20 – 4 = 16

17 – 9 = 8

6 – 0 = 6

11 – 5 = 6

Compare number sentences

Use the symbols <, > or = to make these statements correct.

17 + 3    >     14 + 2

5 + 6      >      6 + 3

15 + 1    =      12 + 4

18 – 2      =     16 – 0

14 – 7      <     19 – 10

10 – 3       <    10 – 0

Reasoning

Miss Lotysz has 3 number cards.

3     5       2

She has written two number sentences.

3 + 5 = 2 3 = 5 + 2

Explain what Miss Lotysz has done wrong.

She has mixed up the numbers.

Correct her number sentences.

3 + 2 = 5      2 + 3 = 5     5 = 3 + 2    5 = 2 + 3

Reasoning

Which number bond is the odd one out?

5 + 5        6 + 4      10 + 2          7 + 3

10 + 2 because the rest equal 10 and this one equals 12.

Why do you think it is the odd one out?

Reasoning

How many different ways can you complete the number sentence?

3 + ___  <  3 + ___

There are lots of answers to this, here are an example of a few.

3 + 1 < 3 + 4

3 + 2 < 3 + 5

3 + 3 < 3 + 4

3 + 0 < 3 + 4

Problem solving

There are 9 sweets altogether.

3 have a red wrapper and 7 have a blue wrapper.

Is this correct? no

Explain how you know.

because 3 + 7 = 10

Problem solving

How many ways can you get an answer of 0?

____ – _____ = 0

What is the rule?

There are lots of answers to this, here are a few.

10 – 10 = 0

9 – 9 = 0

8 – 8 = 0

7 – 7 = 0

6 – 6 = 0

The rule is that the two numbers you are subtracting have to be the same.

Problem solving

Would you rather have 6 sweets and 2 more sweets, or 8 sweets?

Explain your answer.

They are both the same.

Problem solving

Miss Lister says

5 + 2 is greater than 4 + 4 because 5 is greater than 4.

Is she correct? no

Explain why.

Because 5 + 2 = 7 and 4 + 4  = 8

Here is a game for you to have a go at once you have completed your learning.
