Election Fever at Plover

Today we were demonstrating our British Values of Democracy by holding our very own school election.

Following Wednesday’s hustings assembly (imagine a much more polite version of the leadership debate), children voted for their favourite candidates for Plover Pupil Leadership team, which would consist of a Pupil Headteacher and 3 Assistant Headteachers.

Children were checked in at the registration desk and then went to the polling booths to make their secret vote. Following that, they posted their votes into the sealed ballot box.

Year 6 pupils, Sienna, Costa, Ashton and Lara worked really hard as election officials and counting the votes at the end of the election.

I am pleased to announce that the Pupil School Leadership will be: Tim (Pupil Headteacher), Eifa (Pupil Assistant Headteacher), Violet (Pupil Assistant Headteacher and Caleb (Pupil Assistant Headteacher. They were delighted when they were informed they had won and are excited to start their roles.

Thank you to all the children who engaged in the elections in such an enthusiastic way throughout the day.
