I am very aware that having 3 staff confirmed as positive for Coronavirus in school this last week will have caused worry within our school community. First and foremost, I am pleased to share that the staff affected are all doing well and continue to recover at home.
I would like to reassure you that the ‘bubble’ system we have had in place since the start of the school year is completely in line with current Government guidance.
There have been some questions around staff moving between bubbles and whilst this is kept to a minimum as much as possible, some staff do work with different bubbles. Again, this is in line with current Government guidance which states,
‘All teachers and other staff can operate across different classes and year groups in order to facilitate the delivery of the school timetable. Where staff need to move between classes and year groups, they should try and keep their distance from pupils and other staff as much as they can, ideally 2 metres from other adults. Again, we recognise this is not likely to be possible with younger children and teachers in primary schools can still work across groups if that is needed to enable a full educational offer.’
I also realise that as all schools continue to deal with confirmed cases of Coronavirus of both staff and pupils, the steps taken by schools do differ. All steps taken at Plover are done so in consultation with Public Health England. Therefore the decisions to close the FS2 (Reception) and KS1 (Years 1&2) bubbles this week have been made in line with Government guidance and in consultation with Public Health England.
Myself and the staff appreciate how worrying a time it is at the minute and even more so with the announcement that Doncaster will be moved into ‘Covid Tier 3’ by the Government on Saturday. We will continue to support our children and their families as much as we can through these uncertain times. Please contact us with any questions you have as we would far rather you ask us than be left wondering and with feelings of uncertainty.
Thank you all for your continued support and whilst it will be a very different half term for everybody, I do hope you find time to relax with your family.
We look forward to seeing you all on Monday 2nd November.
Stay safe
Mrs Ogle
