Roman Quest Day

What a way to start the week! Challenges were laid down by the Roman Army and by a Celtic warrior too. Effective team work, map reading, Roman Numeral maths and even archeological digging were required to crack the code, open the box and discover our fate. Did we crack the code? If so, would we join the Roman Army? Or become one of the local tribe members?

Well done 4H! You cracked the code and opened the box!

Crew celebrations

Today we learnt even more about each other in our expedition time. We played pass the parcel with challenges in. We found out favourite colours, who could hop and jump, what our favourite songs are and who could do star jumps. It was very exciting and Alice won the prize. Well done Alice.

Amazing week

Wow! I am so proud of my class. They have settled well and have been working so hard. They are loving Fred Frog and learning the new letter sounds.

In phonics today we had some excellent writers. Well done to Oscar, Olivia and Nivriti.

Georgia showed us her swimming certificates. We were very proud of her achievements.

Georgie, Scarlett and Ariana have worked hard all week showing excellent magnet eyes and listening ears.

Mrs Renwick and I are looking forward to next week and seeing the progress that you will make.

Well done everyone.

London’s Burning!

To help bring our hook week to a close, we have set fire to our model of Pudding Lane. We had to try and put out the fire and dig in a fire break before the fire reached the King’s house. We had great fun watching it burn, whilst singing ‘London’s Burning’. Thank you to Mr Meade for being Fire Fighter in Chief!

Making leaves

We explored the garden this morning. We looked at the leaves and chose the ones we liked the best. We talked about colours and patterns. We created our own leaves to make a tree by doing leaf rubbing and cutting. We practiced using our fine motor skills.

We are looking forward to seeing them on Mrs Bubb’s tree.

Super duper you

In crew today we were thinking about what makes us super duper and if we are all the same different. We then linked it to what we might need to get better at and what other people might be good at.

This is what we thought.

Being helpful

Yuvaan was really helpful to the other children outside today. He noticed that the sand was around the edge of the sandpit and the children wanted to sit on it. He scooped the sand back into the sandpit.

Thank you for being helpful Yuvaan.

Roman workshop (3F)

Today, we enjoyed a variety of Roman workshops. The children enjoyed investigating Roman artefacts, etching onto wax tablets, marching and dressing up.
