Fruit/Vegetable Tasting

In expedition we looked at the story Oliver’s vegetable. We then spoke about how we know if is a fruit or a vegetable before trying some fruit and veg ourselves. I was so proud of each and every member of our crew, as everybody tried every single piece of fruit and veg. Some children then recorded whether they liked it with a happy/sad face whilst others showed me with either a thumbs up or down.

We are up and about…

After completing our first challenge of the lesson: ‘Am I Roman or Celtic?’, we checked in with someone else from another table and chatted through our answers together. Some of us felt a little strange: suddenly getting up and moving elsewhere in the room but the movement improved the quality of the conversation between everyone and their was more of a ‘buzz’ about the learning. Well done guys – I know it feels strange talking to someone different but you were all incredible! AGAIN!

Roman role play 🛡️

Today, 4B have been role playing as a Roman legionary invading Britannia. Well done to everyone for participating and sharing some great ideas. This will help lots with generating ideas for our final write this week.

Fine Motor

This week we have been practising our fine motor skills. I have set the children the challenge of being able to put their own coats on and zip/button them up. It would be great if you can support your child in learning this skill at home too.

Hot/cold Weather Clothes

In expedition we have been looking at what clothes we would wear in the Autumn when it is getting colder and what clothes we would wear on a hot summers day. The children did really well at helping me to sort the items of clothing into two hoops.

1 less!

In our Maths lesson today we were finding one less of numbers up to 10. We started by building a tower of all the different numbers then taking 1 away to find 1 less.

Hearts for the hospital

Our hearts for the hospital took a little longer than we expected but we’re sure you’ll agree, they’re worth the wait!

Grappling in Maths

Today in 2L we grappled with flexible partitioning to 100 using dienes. The children worked hard and worked in mini crews to support one another. This is a tricky concept but you made me really proud with your perseverance today.
Well done 2L!
