On Friday, we spent some time learning about the Festival of Diwali, to link with our third Case Study ‘How does light illuminate our world?”.
Diwali is being celebrated by Hindus, Muslims and Buddhists all around the world this week, so it was perfect timing to do some research and find out more.
We watched videos and learnt the story of Rama and Sita and then we took part in a treasure hunt of facts around the room to see how much we had learnt.
We would like to wish everyone who has been celebrating this weekend a very happy Diwali.

Well done to Leo and Jaxon who have got our yellow T-shirt this week! Both boys have improved their listening skills and work ethic massively, and have done really well with toileting recently. Keep it up boys!

Today we have been celebrating Diwali. We have made diva lamps and enjoyed decorating them. We then lit them up and discussed how Diwali is the festival of light. We have also been making rangoli patterns and doing some dancing.

We have been learning about why people wear poppies on Remembrance Day and the reason behind the two minutes silence. We printed our own poppies using a paint and a sponge and then put glitter on, to remember the soldiers.

Jacoby has settled into school life, now separating from mum with no tears and playing with his friends! We are so pleased with you Jacoby, keep it up.
Edith, Paizlee and Charlotte have also been phonics superstars this week, working really hard to learn their graphemes! Well done girls.

Today in science 6R have been learning all about pollination.

This week in maths we have been exploring patterns and looking in particular at ABAB repeating patterns. A special shoutout to Thea and Niana that could continue the patterns independently.

Shoutout to Eymen and Joud who have got our yellow T-shirt this week.
Eymen is such a polite, kind and caring young man who always tries his best and looks after school resources. It’s been so lovely to see Joud’s confidence grow, he is speaking more in class and joining in with our phonics. Keep it up boys, we are proud of you both!
