We had a great first week back!

4H had a fabulous first week back after the Easter break and it is fair to say that we are incredibly excited about our new expedition: From Bean to Bar: What’s the cost of a bar of chocolate?

We immersed ourselves in the world of chocolate by watching Gene Wilder as Mr Willy Wonka; tasting a range of different chocolate types; looking at the artwork of Andy Warhol and designing our own packaging for a delicious treat that we will be making as our final product!

Keep working hard guys; let’s smash this final term as a team and get you year five ready! How exciting!

Time to pack!

Lucy and Tom (from our book) forgot to pack so they sent us a postcard to ask us to pack their bag for them. We read it and placed all the things we needed in the bag. This week, we are going to write our own lists for packing our seaside bag.

Beep beep!

Today’s crew was all about road safety. We made a poster using our hand print to remind everyone to hold an adult’s hand when crossing the road. Have a chat with the children to see what they remember about road safety.

Making sandwiches

We have been sharing the book Lucy and Tom at the seaside. Lucy and Tom packed sandwiches to take with them on their journey so the children did the same. They used their fine motor skills to spread the margarine and the jam.

Diverse Doncaster – Where do I belong?

Last Friday 2P went to the Danum Gallery, Library and Museum and had a wonderful time finding out about Doncaster in the past. The children enjoyed handling artefacts and finding out more about Doncaster through the ages.

The children were a real credit to Plover and we were so proud of them. A great big thank you to all the adults who came with us.

Celebration time

It was lovely to celebrate the achievements of our children today.

Some children had certificates for 100% attendance.

Georgia celebrated achieving a medal in dancing.

Scarlett celebrated achieving a new belt in martial arts.

Maisie celebrated swimming 20 metres and coming 5th in the NHS name a robot competition.

Mylo celebrated reading and making words on his own.

Well done F2P. Let’s see who we can celebrate with next week.

F2 Pride of Plover

This week the badges went to Zehra and Nivriti. Both have worked exceptionally hard. Zehra has contributed to class discussions showing confidence and understanding. Nivriti has been working hard in all her learning and has been sharing her learning with others. You are both superstars – well done.
