KS1 Pride of Plovers

Well done to our Pride of Plover winners this week in KS1!

Each of you have a unique and wonderful personality who works hard, shows tolerance and is growing in confidence! #LovePlover

We are so proud of our dancing superstar!

Well done to this incredibly talented young lady. What a half term you had! Having moved up a section to dance against the ‘Juniors’, Mia was one of the youngest of roughly 20 children who competed against each other all week in solo routines. She came home with 12 individual medals: 2 gold medals; 5 silver; 3 bronze; and 2, 4th place medals – as well as others for group routines! See, I told you she was talented! I can’t wait to come and watch you and your friends perform again.

Look out London’s West End…Mia is gonna take you by storm one day!

‘Motivate Me’ Crew Challenges

In our crews, we have had to think really carefully about how we can achieve a team aim. It was much harder than we first thought it would be to lower the counting stick to the ground without anyone’s fingers becoming detached from the stick. It was amazing how much better we did when we actually communicated with each other!

Well done teams.

Danum Read Aloud Competition

Today in crew we have launched the Danum Read Aloud competition to our children in KS2 (Year 3,4,5 and 6).

The theme this year is book openings. Children can select their favourite from the selection of extract to perform for their crew. Winners will then go into the KS2 semi-final and winners from that will progress into the school final, held on Thursday 7th March – World Book Day.

One overall winner from our school final will be entered into the Doncaster final held at the Danum Museum and Art Gallery on 27th March.

Good Luck everybody!

Our above 97% attendance winners in UKS2!

It is not always easy or possible to come to school every day but these superstars have smashed our target of 97% last half-term.

This morning in community crew, I challenged all 5/6 to aim for 97% or above this half term and if we achieve it, we will ALL receive a special treat!

We can do it! 🥰
