KS2 girls football club- every Thursday 12:30-1:15

We would love to create a Plover girl’s football team. We will be holding training sessions every Thursday dinner for KS2 girls who would like to play. We would like to participate in half-termly matches therefore, it is really important anyone who signs up must be committed to train each week. This will start the first week back after half term. Harvest Festival

Harvest Festival is next week and we would love to be able to use this as an opportunity to contribute to our Plover Pantry.

Our students ambassadors have been working hard to plan this year’s Harvest festival. They politely request donations of non perishable foods (tins and dried foods) and have set all crews a challenge. The crew who brings in the most donations will win a milkshake and film treat!

Donating means giving back to our community. Something we are really passionate about at Plover so please support us and donate what you can. The deadline for donations is the start of school on Monday 2nd October but we are welcoming donations from today.

Also please remember that our Plover pantry is open to ALL parents. We always have lots of new and exciting stock and we would love to see more parents there. It is open every Wednesday at 2:15pm.

So come on Year 3 and 4 crews, you never know, you might win the film treat.

LKS2 Homelearning

It has been lovely to see some Romans linked home learning being brought into school this week.

I would love to celebrate the great work completed at home in our Community Crew events, so keep bringing your home learning in. Not only do you get rewarded with crew coins, but you may also get a ‘Dip in the Box’ prize.

We love to see all your ideas, but if you want some more, have a look at the suggestions on the second page of the document attached to the blog.

I look forward to seeing what you bring in!

Year 3 Danum Museum Field Trip

Just a reminder that all children must come to school in the morning to be registered.

We will be setting off walking at 9am.

Children who are being transported by parents will need to go with parents and meet us at the museum at 10am.

Children that are not walking will be collected from the museum at 1:45.

Year 3 Hockey

Year 3 had so much fun this morning learning how to correctly hold a hockey stick and practice controlling the ball. What a great way to spend the morning in the sun!

Year 3 and 4 Field Trip next week

Just a reminder that Year 4 are visiting the Danum Museum and Art Gallery on Tuesday 5th September to take part in a Roman Workshop and will be taking part in a Roman Experience Workshop in school on Friday 8th September.

Year 3 are taking part in the Roman Experience workshop IN SCHOOL on Thursday 7th September and will be visiting the Danum Museum and Art Gallery to take part in a Roman Workshop on Friday 8th September.

The cost for both activities is £14.

Unfortunately, we are unable to fund the activities as a school, and if we do not have enough payments we will have to cancel the trip.

Please speak to your class teacher or Mrs Graves asap if there are any difficulties with this payment, as we would like every child to be able to go on the trip.

LKS2 Roman Hook Week

On Monday 4th September, LKS2 will be having their Roman Quest Day to launch the new expedition. Children are invited to come to school dressed as a Roman (or a Celt) to help immerse into the day.

On Wednesday 6th September, we would love our families to join us in the afternoon at 2pm for our Family Learning as we find out more about our school community and complete a giant collaborative piece of artwork.
