Today we’re going to start making a story map to retell the first part of Goldilocks and the three bears (up to the bears walking in the woods). Once you’ve drawn your story map, practice retelling your story as much as you can and add actions. Don’t forget to share your story map and video your retelling to share with us too!
Save your map as we’ll be adding to it later.
Today we have enjoyed learning about Goldilocks and the 3 bears. Children have had fun retelling the story through role-play and playing in the porridge oats.
Exploring sharing objects into two equal groups
In this lesson, we will explore sharing objects into two equal groups. We will learn the words equals and share.
Watch the video and complete the learning. Can you find other things to share into 2 equal groups in your house?
Problem solving question
I have 13 children in school and I need to split them into teams for our crew coins – red, blue and yellow. Can I put the same number of children into each team? Can you solve my problem? You could draw your answer.

Monday 25th Jan
1. Recap those tricky words and graphemes.
2. Sing an alphabet song and say the
letter names
3. Today we will be using letter names and looking at upper and lower case letters. Some lower case letters look the same but smaller like Ss, Pp, Oo. Some look very different like Bb, Rr and Tt.
Make two lists of letters that look the same and different. Do you know their names? (Aa is ay, Bb is bee).
4. On an alphabet sheet tick off the ones you can name. I wonder if you can learn the rest?
I can’t wait to see your photos!
Monday’s learning
We are going to be sharing the story Goldilocks and the three bears and learn the bear song.
We are going to think about what we know about Goldilocks and the three bears and then use this in our play. We will be using language to retell, sequence and pretend to be characters within our play. Green standard children will also be offering their opinions on the story and asking questions about why things happened.
Share the story.
Draw what you know about the story. Who is in the story? Where was the story set? What happened in the story? You can extend your learning by saying what you think about the story and what Goldilocks did.
Pretend to be the bears or Goldilocks and retell the story.Ask your grown up to write down what you say.

For handwriting this week we are moving on to write ladder letters. These all start at the top and go down. Remember to put a dot on the top for i and j.
Watch BBC Bitesize to see how to write them. Practice the formation each day. Don’t forget the caterpillar letters from last week.

Have a walk to the woods – pretend to be the bears. Can you hide from Goldilocks?
Send photos of the things that you try. We also like to see your ideas and creations on the hangouts.
