What a fabulous start to hook week in UKS2 💙
Year 5&6 have had a fabulous start to hook week this morning! They have started creating their greenhouse and I am so excited to see it finished! Thank you to everyone who brought in plastic bottles- please keep them coming! The children have also been immersing our environments by creating a range of rainforest animals to display. I can’t wait to see what they get up to for the rest of the week!

Who wants to win a tipi tent sleepover? Let’s get reading in Year 5&6!
In Year 5 & 6 we are having a HUGE push on reading! We have launched a very exciting competition today. Every time a child asses an AR quiz at 85% or above they can put their name into the prize draw. Teachers will read out the names in community crew each week and children can come and place their name in the draw. The more children read at home, the more quizzes they can access in school. The winner will be announced in our final community crew of 2023 and along with their parents, they will be able to choose a tipi sleepover design for two people and they can select a date of their choice to use this.

Year 5&6 parent reading workshop- Thursday 21st September 3:30-4:30
Reading is so important and we have lots of exciting reading competitions and incentives starting in 5/6. We need the support of our parents and carers so we are holding a parent reading workshop on Thursday 21st September. We will be sharing lots of amazing free resources for you to takeaway to support your child’s reading. We have a variety of free books and games for you to take away as well as a parent competition we will be launching! We would love to see you all there. Refreshments will also be available!

Tonight, all Year 5 and 6 children have been given a letter for the trip to Cadbury World. Please ensure both the letter and the out of hours forms have been signed. The payment deadline is 11th September. If for any reason you are unable to pay by this date, please see Miss Blackham as soon as possible. Thank you, the Year 5 and 6 team.
We need more 2 litre plastic bottles!
Please keep brining in any 2 litre plastic bottles you have. We need them for our final product! Thank you so much to everyone who has brought them in so far! We are 2/3 towards our target of 400! Please bring them to 6B!
