Year 1 PE

1/2 K were working on their ball skills this morning. First they practiced balancing their ball on their hand so it looked just like an ice cream! Then they practiced bouncing the ball and catching it. Coach Morgan chose Elizabeth as her sports star of the day as she showed great resilience this lesson and never gave up until she could catch it. Well done Elizabeth!

Handwriting ✏️

1/2K were hard at work improving their handwriting this morning.

Phonics Superstars ⭐️

I was so proud of John-Boy, Elizabeth and Bailey in Phonics today. They were trying really hard to learn not just one sound, but two! Well done 👏🏻

Motivation Monday Crew

After check in, Crew Meade worked collaboratively to leave no one behind. They enjoyed solving the problem of getting everyone on to a smaller island each time, to rescue Fred the Frog – as the floor was lava! #LovePlover

Beautiful Work in 1M

Lacey-Mae, Alex, Siyar and Flynn have taken great pride in their English and then Expedition work – producing some beautiful handwriting! #LovePlover

Expedition Home Learning

Dolunay has created a beautiful Pudding Lane craft from The Great Fire of London!

Alex has been busy creating a fantastic Rosa Parks poster – we will be learning more about Rosa Parks in a few weeks! #LovePlover

Crew Time

This morning Crew Ketteringham played a game of shrinking island. The children had to work together to stay on the island without falling off into the hot lava! 🔥

Our Superstars!

A big well done to Macey and Josie today.
Macey has been an excellent mathematician since starting in 1/2K, she is so speedy and can explain her reasoning well.
Josie has completed some amazing home learning this weekend by creating this fabulous house as part of our work on the Great Fire of London. Proud of you both!

Year 1 Homework and Reading Bags

Today, children in Year 1 will be bringing home their homework bags. This contains a little bit of homework and a reading for pleasure book.

The homework sheet has a little bit of maths and spelling on. There are also some optional QR codes to help with reading and phonics.

The children have also chosen a book to enjoy with their adults. This is a shared book not a levelled reading book.

The children will begin to bring their levelled reading books home in the next few weeks, once they have started using these in class.

Please return the book bag and homework on a Friday. This will then be changed and sent home again on a Monday.
