Great Fire of London Hook Week

Today, the children started immersing themselves in the new expedition. As part of hook week, we worked with watercolours and poster paint to create a Great Fire of London-themed piece of class art work.

First, we discovered how to use watercolour brushes and choose the right colours for our painting. We then worked in teams to paint the different houses and flames using watercolours.

After this, we used poster paint and a splatter art technique to create a sky background filled with burning embers.

Once this was dry, we mounted the houses and flames to create an excellent piece of art!

Bird Crafts in 1M

1M have been busy today and have worked hard making saltdough birds, acorn bird feeders, bird hats/masks and painted different birdies! They then enjoyed some time on the ipads playing on the educational games. #LovePlover

Crew – How will what I do impact others?

Our mini guiding question this week is… how will what I do impact others?

We have raised money for a Xmas surprise and enjoyed our Colour Fun Run! We’ve learnt about the importance of birds and how we can help protect them by making bird feeders for our community.

Thanks,

Mr Meade, Miss Ketteringham, Mrs Ibbertson, Mr Longley

Welcome back Y1 superstars

It has been a wonderful day with all the children in Y1. So many smiles, happy children/teachers and brilliant working behaviours! We checked in, did crew challenges, practised our handwriting and have sewed love hearts for DRI!

See you all tomorrow Y1 Crew.

Mr Meade, Miss Ketteringham, Mr Longley #LovePlover

1LI had a great time making birds from salt dough, adding feathers and beaks using pegs.

We also enjoyed making bird collages.

Our bird feeders were amazing. We hope that you attract lots of birds with them near where you live.

Colour Fun Run info

Hi Plover Crew

Just a reminder Y1,2,3,5,6 children to come in old PE kit/ old light clothes tomorrow and bring £2.50 fundraising money.

Unfortunately, parents/careers can’t take part in this years colour run event!

Children will be dismissed at 3.15pm from the school field… parents/carers could therefore catch the end whilst waiting on Coniston Road for school gates to open at 3.10pm.

Thank you for your cooperation 😄🎨
