Marvellous Home Learning in 1C!

Just look at the beautiful work Almina created at home! She has made an entire ocean in a tank and included examples of pollution, which is harming our sea creatures. This is linked to our current expedition in Key Stage 1; The Blue Planet. She also wrote this beautiful piece explaining why it is important that we look after our oceans!
Well done Almina! I am very proud!

Instructions ✍️ 🐝

Today we introduced our class stimulus text: Omar, The Bees and Me! It is a wonderful stories about two friends who are on a mission to help the bees. We talked about what we had created for our eco garden and what we had done to help the bees. We then thought it would be a lovely idea to share with more people on how they could make Bee Hotels too! We introduced our new model text and we were very lucky today, as Mrs. Swann taught us the BSL signs to accompany it! Thank you Mrs. Swann for your help! 🐝

Kind, Caring and Beautiful

Crew Meade have created some lovely Mothers day cards. Esme has been so kind and brought in some small princess dresses for our Nursery children. Mateo, Sreelakshmi and Siyar have done some great home learning. Then we took some children to show their amazing handwritten stories to Mrs Ogle! #LovePlover

1C’s Very Own Bee Hotels!

Today, 1C made lovely bee hotels to attract our buzzy friends to our eco-garden. We had to follow instructions to be able to do this and make sure that we got the steps in the right order. After this, we read our new focus text which is ‘Omar, The Bees and Me’ written by Helen Mortimer.

Instructions: Bee Hotel 🐝

As part of our new writing unit, we are learning to write instructions. Today, we practiced following some instructions on how to make a bee hotel. First we collected some sticks to create the middle section. Then we made our bed hotels in mini crews before heading outside to put them in our eco-garden.

KS1 Celebration of Learning

We are so excited to invite our parents and carers to our celebration of learning based on our guiding question, “How will what I do today impact tomorrow”. The COL will take place on the 27th March 2024 at 2pm.

We will share some of our learning throughout this term and we will be officially opening our new mini Eco-Garden and dedicating our fruit trees to some of our community heroes. We would love you to join in the celebration with our special guest, the Rt Hon. Dame Rosie Winterton M.P.

Caring Crew❤️

As part of our Crew Curriculum this term we have been discussing Mental Wellbeing and the importance of being mentally healthy as well as physically healthy.
Some of the strategies we talked about this morning to help our wellbeing included practicing gratitude, showing kindness and compassion for others and keeping physically active.
we then discussed the things that make us happy. We talked about our favourite books, films, activities and food; our favourite things!
