Stop Polluting Our Oceans 🌊

SAVE OUR SEAS! In geography today we learnt about the Mariana Trench which is the deepest part of the ocean on Earth. Sadly, pollution is having a huge impact on our oceans and sea creatures! We discussed and explored how we need to stop single use plastic, recycle and reuse. The children created some powerful posters! #LovePlover

Pond Habitats 🐸

This afternoon, 1/2K created our own pond. We discussed what we would need to create our pond. We found out we would need fresh water (not salt water), plants and rocks.

World Book Day 2024

We are looking forward to celebrating World Book Day on Thursday 7th March.

It would be lovely to see the children dressed up as their favourite book character, but please don’t feel like you have to rush out and buy a costume!

£1 Book Vouchers will be given to children on the day which can be spent in most supermarkets and book shops, but we do also have a Book Fayre coming into school the following week, and children can put their voucher towards the cost of a book at that event – more details to follow soon.

More information can be found on https://www.worldbookday.com

SAVE OUR SEAS!

This afternoon in 1/2K we learned about pollution in more detail. We learned that pollution is usually rubbish that has been dumped into the rivers and carried out to sea. We found out that it can end up in the deepest part of the ocean; The Mariana Trench. We practiced our recycling by sorting different objects into plastic, metal and paper. Then we created posters to help raise awareness about sea pollution and what it is doing to the animals.

Fundamental Movements!

During our PE session with Coach Adam we began our next unit of PE.. Dance! To start we warmed up our bodies moving around the space like different animals. The children loved moving around like frogs which links to our current expedition. Coach Adam challenged the children to hold different balance positions as well as different ways to move around. He then added obstacles and special challenges to make it more challenging.
Well done to Corben, Jaxon and Bailey who were our PE stars of the day. 🌟
