In F2, we have been thinking about characters from the stories we have read. This week, we are thinking about characters for our own seaside adventures. We talked about them and then went to create them using drawings, paintings, models or play dough in provision.

Number bonds to ten in F2
We used our rekenreks to make ten. We used one finger one push to move a number of beads and then saw how many were left on the other side. We saw five and five make ten without even moving any beads. Now we need to learn the other number bonds to ten facts. If you see us, ask us how we can make ten. Mrs Bubb hopes we will be able to tell you some!
Which character will you choose?
Yesterday we thought about the characters we have read about throughout the expedition. We learnt to sign who and the characters. Today the children chose the character for their story and created it in some way. Have a look at their creations.

F2P Pride of Plover
Well done to Oliver for being our Pride of Plover. Oliver has been following his morning routine and coming to the carpet. The children in our crew were able to say how amazing Oliver has been.

World Ocean Day
Today we celebrated World Ocean Day. We learnt about the problem with plastics in the sea and what we can do to help the sea creatures. We shared the story “The Undersea Cleaning Spree” and considered why the sea creatures were sad.

Sticky Knowledge
Today we looked at the festival of Diwali and recalled what we had learnt last year.
These are the things that we remembered.

fishy family learning
What a lovely morning we had. Iām not sure who enjoyed it the most? The children or the grown-ups! It was lovely to see all the creativity and the team work going on in making some beautiful sea creatures. I have hung them and stuck them and draped them and admired them this evening. They have made our classroom beautiful! Thank you to everyone who came and supported their children in our colourful expedition, āWhat happens where the sea meets the shore?ā
