Adults are very welcome to stay on a Friday morning from 8.45 am until 9.15 am to read a book with their child. The books are out in the classroom ready for you to choose from with your child.
When you read to your child while they are cuddled up, warm and comfortable next to you, you make them feel loved. This makes them remember the feeling of being loved when they look at books. So when they pick up a book they feel loved and will become a better reader for having a love of books. This means that they will be a better writer too! When you are reading your voice changes. It slows down and the child hears every word that you say. If reading at home is right then reading at school will be more successful too!
