Today’s character trait was all about compassion. We unpicked what this meant and then spent time using stories and discussions to work out what it might look like in the things that we do and say. We used our ideas to create our own, unique bingo card with lots of different ideas on it. We now have the challenge of doing all of the ideas so that we can tick them off and get bingo! I wonder how long it will take?
In the afternoon, we looked at the artist Keith Haring and used his work to create a compassion-themed piece of pop art. We had to show courage when we were cutting out some of the fiddly shapes and we did really well.
We ended the day with the colour run. Before it started, we were very lucky to have Mr Sprakes give us a speech and we were able to celebarate the amazing acts of compassion that our own Harris has been doing out of school during the summer. He has rasied almost ÂŁ1000 for charity and received a special prize. We then had a brilliant time getting messy and being active but it can be easy to forget that this was our way to raise money so that we can donate some of it to the RSPCA. Giving to others is the best form of compassion! Great work 2P!
