Can you make 5?

In maths today the children were challenged to make 5 in different ways. Some children counted out 5 objects, some children thought about 1 more and some children thought about the 2 groups that they could use.

Lola had 4 bears and got 1 more.
Alfie made 5 with 3 and 2.
Bailey noticed 3 and 2 made 5.
Ellie said she knew that it was 5 because she had 5 fingers and she had used them all but she had 2 different colours that made 5.
