Pride of Plover

This week our Pride of Plover goes to Oliver!

Oliver has demonstrated persevering skills when working in both English and Maths this week and has been proud of his efforts. Everyday Oliver has put 100% effort into his work and enjoyed challenging himself. Keep it up Oliver!

Super start to Poetry from 3T and 3L!

An amazing start to poetry this week and making our own rhyming couplets! We worked in pairs to identify the rhyming words in our poem before thinking of our own rhyming words and writing our own rhyming couplets. The children really enjoyed this activity and were excited to build up their own poem. We have had some fantastic poetry from both the children working in school and online! Well done everyone!

Shout outs!

Well done Year 4, what a fantastic week of learning we have had this week. I am really pleased to see so many of you engaging online.

My shout outs today go to Alfie (4G) for a fantastic pop up earthquake, thank you for sharing that with me and Anez (4L) for trying really hard to achieve green standard on her maths entry ticket.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and I will see you all on Monday.

Plover Praise

Well done to Pranav and Shyaw – today’s Plover Praise. You have followed instructions for your artwork very well and created your own original pieces pieces of art. You have paid attention to detail and worked hard at creating an image using foreground, middle ground and background.

In addition to this, Pranav, you did an amazing performance of the flood poem for all of online – brilliant!

Amazing artwork in Year 3 and 4

It has been a great week of learning for so many of our children in year 3 and 4. So many children have been logging on and completing their work, it is great to see.

I have been particularly impressed with the artwork that has been produced during the Thursday afternoon art sessions with Mrs Foster.

They have been learning about the Japanese artwork ‘the Great Wave’ by Hokusai, to link with our expedition theme of Natural Disasters and today’s lesson moved on to using a tsunami as a subject to study using perspective in their drawings.

I am blown away by the quality of the drawing and the care and pride they have put into their work.

Have a flick through our gallery below (swipe left and  right) and who knows, one day, some these pupils might be displaying in real art galleries!

Enjoy our art!
