Congratulations to all the children in Year 3 and 4 who have been earning raffle tickets by reading and quizzing on their books on Accelerated Reader. World Book Day

World Book Day will be celebrated in school and at home on Friday 5th March. We would love all children to get involved in the fun. This year, the theme of World Book Day will be ‘Books That Make You LOL’. We would like to invite all children to dress up as a character from a book that makes them laugh. There will be prizes up for grabs for the most creative efforts put into a costume.
There will be a ‘decorate a potato challenge’ which we invite everyone to have a go at. You can decorate a potato as a character from any book or even decorate several potatoes if you are making a scene from a book. We also will have a competition just for fun based on the TV show, ‘The Masked Singer’. Staff have hidden their identities behind books and you will be using the clues to discover who is behind the mask!
Vouchers will be emailed to all parents and carers for the World Book Day £1 books. These will take the place of the normal paper vouchers. Some shops are requesting paper copies of the vouchers so please check before spending the voucher. If you find you need a paper copy but do not have access to a printer, please let your child’s teacher know and they will print you a copy.
We can’t wait to see your costumes and celebrate with you!

Who’s Going to Win a Box of Dunkin Doughnuts?

Don’t forget this Friday, we will be announcing the winners of our reading competition.  Every time you pass an Accelerated Reader Quiz you will be entered into the prize draw to win a lovely box of doughnuts.  So the more that  you read and the more quizzes you pass, the more chances you will have to win!

Well done and keep going 3T

Hi 3T, I just wanted to say a huge well done to those of you who have taken on board the comments about reading and quizzing more often.

I have just been doing the raffle tickets for the prize draw after half term and the number of tickets has increased massively.

I am also super proud of how we have gone from 57,000 words to over 100,00 in the space of just over a fortnight. That is an incredible effort. Well done! We just need to keep reading and quizzing to catch up with everyone else’s efforts.

I really feel so proud writing this post. Well done. Have a lovely rest of your break and I will see you all either online or in school on Monday morning.

3L Pride of Plover

Last weeks Pride of Plover went to Dylan. Dylan was a deserving recipient of this as his confidence is growing completing his learning online and bringing a smile to everyone’s face! Well done Dylan!

This weeks Pride of Plover is awarded to Lily-Grace for always engaging in online learning and for some fantastic independent learning about the Fishlake Floods. Well done Lily- Grace!

Home Learning

Zofia completed some home learning on the water cycle. She went home from school and independently drew a diagram of the water cycle and explained how the cycle works to her mum and sister. Well done Zofia! #LovePlover

Well done Isabella!

Well done Isabella for winning our Pride of Plover today!

Isabella has worked incredibly hard, always tries her best and is kind and helpful to the other children in class.

Water Cycle Fun

This week we have been looking closely at the Water Cycle. We drew and labelled a diagram and explained how it works. In our second lesson, we conducted an experiment using a food bag and some water; which we have taped to our classroom window for us to observe and record the changes! #LovePlover

Keep reading 3T

Well done to children in 3T who have really made a commitment to getting online and quizzing. There has been a few children who have logged on at home and started quizzing this week…well done to Eshal,  Ethan and Angel!

Remember, every quiz means you get an entry for the special prize of a box of Dunkin’ Donuts! If you haven’t read and quizzed yet, make sure you do this week! 🙂 Remember, a grown up can help you with your reading if you are finding it a challenge to read by yourself.

Keep going 3T, I want to see our total jump this week when the total amount of words read is counted!
