Today we have been using maps to find out where in the world the Viking homelands were and where they settled in the UK. Can you remember the 3 parts of Scandinavia that they originated from?

Murton Park Trip
The children absolutely loved our day at Murton Park yesterday. We had a great time making clay candle holders and pretending to be Viking warriors, fighting off invaders with their shields and spears. We even got to dress like Viking families would and had a great time exploring the little Viking village houses. We also had a go at making bread and cooking it near the fire. All children had a great time and we learnt so much more about what is was like to live a day in the life of a Viking.
We are historians
Today we’ve been exploring timelines and finding out exactly when the Vikings invaded Britain. Some of us were quite surprised to find out how old our planet is and how recent, in the grand scheme of history, the Vikings invasions really were! We were also fascinated to find out that not all Vikings left Britain after 1066. I wonder if any of you have Viking blood running through your veins?
Rio the superstar!

Rio produced some gorgeous home learning about the Viking’s over the weekend! He was proudly sharing his home learning in crew as I joined them!Well done you superstar!

We are artists
Today year 3 have been sculpting from clay. They’ve used different tools and techniques to explore patterns and textures to create dragons eyes. I’m sure we can all agree that the results are fantastic. Well done Year 3!
3G’s Fab Home Learning
It has been lovely to have photographs shared with me of the learning that has been completed at home.
Well done Eifa for turning your tea into a work of Viking art.

Well done for Paul for writing a book review about the book he has just read. It certainly seems like you enjoyed reading ‘The Future Friend’ by David Baddiel, especially as you gave it 5 stars. Thank you Paul for sharing your presentation with me.

Well done both of you.
I look forward to seeing more home learning from everyone.
