Show me a number
Every morning, children are going to ‘show me a number’. Using different resources, children have to find different ways to represent a number.
I wonder if they can do this at home too?

LKS2 2020-21 Published Poets
I am very proud to say that the Fishlake Floods poem Year 3 and 4 wrote during lockdown in March has been published in a brand new book documenting the floods. The book is an incredible document of the flood and has been written by residents of Fishlake. They were thrilled to hear about our poem and asked to include it in the book.
Today was the launch of the book in the village and I was proud to present them with our beautiful framed poem and artwork, which is going to be placed in the village hall.
They in turn, presented me with a copy of the book to bring into school
So well done, your beautiful work is both published and on display for posterity in the village!

Marvelous maths
We have been working on place value in year 4. This has included ordering and comparing 4-digit numbers.
Góðan dag (Good day) from Murton Park!
Year 3 had an amazing day at Murton Park yesterday. We enjoyed dressing up and visiting the Viking village. We all learned lots about the Viking settlers in Britain and found out that they were not just warriors and raiders. We made candle holders, farmed the land, ground wheat for very gritty bread and even guarded the village against a very sneaky Anglo Saxon spy!
Look out for more pictures to follow on the TWITT and a huge Thank you to all our slaves (parents) who also enjoyed dressing up!

We are bakers!
I have seen great team work in the team building sessions I have ran this week. The children had to work together to bake buns for our Plover community. Well done to all children involved this week!

Year 3’s Wonderful Day as a Viking
What a great we have had today! We have learnt so much about how the Vikings lived and we have begun to realise they were not just the raiders that most of the stories would have us believe!
We have lived our day as a Viking – farming, guarding, baking and making goods to trade.
After the last couple of years, it has been brilliant to be out on a Field Trip again and Murton Park has really helped to bring history to life for us, and from the number of children that said they had had the best day EVER, I think it is a day that will live in our memories for a long, long time.
Here’s a sneak preview of the day, but more will follow!
