Pride of Plover
Congratulations to Szymon, our Pride of Plover for 3G this week. He has worked so hard, takes real care of our classroom and has demonstrated excellent presentation this week!
This week we have been having a huge focus on the presentation of our work in 3G, with daily postcards to celebrate the effort that is being made to take pride and care in our work.
So far Ella, Morris and Szymon have earned the postcards but it is getting really hard to choose.
Presentation has been particularly important this week as we have started to learn column addition and subtraction in maths, so it is crucial that we set our work out correctly to help us calculate the correct answer.
Keep up the good work guys, it is really having an impact!

This Christmas we will be raffling off coloured Christmas hampers which would make the perfect Christmas gifts. Each class has been challenged with a colour and the idea is each child will contribute something in that colour to add to the hamper. The class with the most contributions will win a prize. Please see above for your child’s class colour and examples of hamper contribution ideas.

Today our postcard goes to Darwin for perseverance. Darwin has grappled with column addition and never gave up until he cracked it! Your additions were beautifully presented too! Next stop column subtraction!

Over the last week, we have been exploring lots of different sketching techniques. Children have been experimenting with different types of pencil and creating different tones, textures, shade and light. Today we have begun to utilise these skills and techniques to create portraits. I can’t wait to see the finished art work!
